Movie set bedroom interiors

Sex and the City: The Movie

Carrie Bradshaw’s bedroom in the Sex and the City movie perfectly reflects the whimsical, quirky, romantic style the TV series was famous for. The bright blue walls, the bold patterned bedding, the mirrored vanity all exude Carrie’s confidence. Her art collection is a dramatic extension of her headboard and is a true nod to her personal style.

Ocean’s Thirteen

Ocean’s Thirteen is a modern day film but Elliott Gould’s bedroom is pure retro. An all gold palette can border on garish but when you decorate in one colorway there is more license for flair. A simple striped bed spread, classic Deco lamps, and a diamond quilted wall treatment refine the glam and glitz to stylish and livable.

Quantum of Solace

The Grand Hotel in Quantum of Solace is a full of unexpected details. Pulling the bed off the back wall brings it to center stage. Using pendant lamps as hovering night lights is a clever and alluring touch. The dark walls make the light furnishings pop in Bond’s lair

The Holiday

Kate Winslet’s character in The Holiday was ecstatic to find this cozy contemporary L.A. bedroom was the product of her English country house swap. Everything about the space soothes her weariness. A cool palette, cloud-like carpet, and soft lines invite her into the getaway.

Amélie

Amélie’s bedroom is a perfect example of thrift store chic. Matching is of no concern to Amélie—art comes in different frames, vintage lamps vary styles, and the wallpaper will never find a coordinating color—but the room is a collection of the things she loves. That’s the mark of great design.
